Lunchtime with a Geshe

"I feel embarrassed, that we can offer you only such a simple food", my tibetan friend Jigme says, who took me today to his school. This small school is situated in the village Spituk in Ladakh and Jigme is a teacher there. His students are small buddhist monks.

Geshe La and Jigme

My heart is pounding with excitement. We are sitting in the office of the school manager, a so-called "Geshe". This is a monk, who achieved this title after studying Buddhism for 25 years. No, the food - traditional lenses and rice - is wonderful; I say and know that the food was made with love.
