3 Weeks Across Incredible India

Jaisalmer

Day 18 - 26. January 2009

The morning I woke up on the train and the landscape got more and more dry.

At about lunchtime I arrived in Jaisalmer and the host from Hotel Renuka picked me up at the train station free of charge. This was a very nice service. After arriving at Hotel Renuka I first had a good lunch in their rooftop Restaurant.

The afternoon I explored Jaisalmer Fort.

Jaisalmer Fort is very nice to see. I had no hassle with all tour vendors because I already booked a camel safari. In the small streets I met many cows and from the walls there is a nice view into the surrounding.

After some hours of camel riding we made a lunch stop. Our guide made very good chai tea and vegetarian curry.

In Jaisalmer Hotel Renuka allowed me to use shower again and after lunch I went to visit Maharaja's Palace. This is now a museum. An audioguide explained everything but I was short on time.

At afternoon I went to the train station to travel on to Jodhpur. This time I travelled on 2nd class sitting and it got more and more overcrowded. This was a real indian experience
