28.12. Hitchhiking from Ko Lanta to Bangkok

in the early morning we got up after a night without sleep... I couldn't sleep because it was busy in the restaurant all night... so we packed our stuff and left for the main road. we were just walking and a tuk tuk driver stopped and wanted to take us to the pier. we said that we didn't have money so he took us for free. on the peer we were standing on the car ferry and when the ferry was on the other side we were just starting to walk. very soon a pickup from the ferry stopped and took us to the next ferry... after that we remained on the pickup and the driver took us to the mainstreet to Krabi. that was pretty good. I jumped off the car and there my shoe broke finally... that was great because now the walking started. ok... fair enough, I could still do it. So we started to walk... after maybe one km a lady stopped and asked us where we wanted to go... we said to bangkok... she wanted to take us to the busstand and buy us a ticket to bangkok. we refused to take that and she showed us the right direction to the highway. she asked us if we wanted something to eat, but we've eaten already... So we walked to the highway direction Surath Thani. after some minutes another car stopped and we could drive in the back on the pickup. That we did until the evening. when it got a bit colder a truckdriver stopped and we could go with him in the front of his truck. he stopped at a tankstation and we got out. it was getting dark already and we decided to stay there. they also had cheap rooms and so we got a night full of nice sleep. the next morning we had some coffee over there and christian went to an empty pickup and was asking if he was driving to the direction bangkok. at this moment we passed surat thani already and were near Chumpon. The pickupdriver was driving directly to bangkok... what a luck... so he took us in the back of his pickup. he invited us for lunch and when we arrived in bangkok he took us to his office. there we got some nice cool beer's and we had a little party with his workers. In the end I had too much beer and the pickup driver (mickey) was paying us the taxi to the koa shan road... that was great. we didn't want to take it but he insisted and we couldn't do something. I was quite drunk I have to confess but we made our way to the guesthouse we stayed last time. they had a free room and we went to sleep immediately...
