OK well after a very long personal journey I'm finally ready to start fulfilling my dreams- having FUN and being free enough to experience life in the way i want to (i so cant wait) and its way overdue! I'm so excited but soooo scared to be starting my travels solo in Bangkok. My plan is to then cross borders into Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, and then!?.. wherever life takes me ;-)

Hi everyone OK thought I would attempt this.
Well i arrived in bangkok pretty tired and thinking what have i done. It was so humid and my bag was feeling way too heavy already!!! I didnt sleep that night guess jetlag/new surroundings.
I had a good breakfast and asked staff at hotel heaps of questions. Decided would go to the Grand Palace and take a river ferry there for the breeze but as i walked along the river realised i would find my way walking. Halfway there was scammed a thai guy said the Palace was shut for praying and tried get me in tuk-tuk to vist other Wats instead. I gave up and went back to hostel for second shower and then ventured Kho San Road.... backpackers getto. I began to realise all my clothes are way to hot and started sending them home...this was an easy task. That night i met a german girl Osnor she asked to join me for dinner. Met her the next day and we went to grand palace wow it was beautiful, Osnor said more impressive than any temples in Beijing. We then eat at food stalls for 35baht so cheap and did a bit of shopping... a top for $1 and fisherman trousers for same price.
I moved lastnight to my new hostel which i really like its really old thai style all wooden and lanterns really sweet and the staff so helpful even gave me a paper envelope to send clothes back to UK. Today i am heading down south so thats just three nights in bangkok and enough. Have just sat down a small thai street eating some more food from the street stalls it was nice just to sit and watch day to day life and nice to eat away from Kho San road. Im heading south tonight over night on bus and ferry tomorrow to Koh Lanta hope to meet more people so far not too friendly here and bit of company would be nice. Did meet new zealand couple at airport lots of tips on south west china so will go there rather than my Tibet destination. Will let you know how i find Koh lanta and journey should be interesting have read this can be a scam too sometimes a change of buses along the way making it a 20 hour journey instead of 12.
So bangkok to sum it up way too hot/humid and tourist destination im looking forward to seeing some more authentic culture on my travels. Kho San Road just like a market but better things to look at if you like clothes and wooden ornaments!!
