Heading towards Laos from Chiang Mai, we had a quick stop in Chiang Rai, half way to the border. Not really an impressive place, and not much to see with the exception of the usual number of temples and a lush green river promenade, so we stayed only for 2 days and went on, as our Thai visa expired.
