The trip to Surrathani Station took up to 5 pm. I wanted to go by train during the day to see some more landscape of Thailand. So I decided to spend the night in Surrathani. After a few minutes I found a cheap hotel for 200 Baht for one night. On this evening I met a German and we had supper and a beer together.
Day 8 - May, 11.
After some delays I started my trip to Hat Yai in the third class at about 10 pm. It was a regional train stopping everywhere but it was interesting to see a lot of landscape and many friendly people.
At 5:19 pm I arrived on time in Hat Yai, I found a cheap, but very bad hotel very fast and explored the inner city of Hat Yai on the evening. But Hat Yai is not so interesting.
Day 9 - May, 12.
I met a Thai woman with her daughter again, after we met on the train. We spent lunch together and then we went together to Songhkla. She is living in Songhkla and I wanted to go there because of beach. A public pickup car for passengers brought us there, what an adventure ride.
In Songhkla she helped me to find a cheap guesthouse and then I looked around on my own. But Songhkla is not very beautiful. No tourists, a very dirty beach and so I spent some of my time in an internet cafe. In the night I saw a thermometer, only 30 degrees Celsius, really colder then during the day.
Day 10 - May, 13.
This area was not so great for me, not many other backpackers. So I decided to travel on direction Malaysia.
At first I went back to Hat Yai, because there is a central train station. But to come to Hat Yai was one more adventure trip. After asking a few people I was sitting in the correct bus to Hat Yai and the bus was driving on in the city until getting completely overcrowded plus a few more people. After one hour of sitting with 3 people on 2 seats I arrived in Hat Yai and I bought a ticket to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia for the afternoon.
So there was some time left for lunch and walking around. On the afternoon my train departed on time.
