Day 26, May 29
This day I had a train trip from Sydney Central Station to Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. Not only the German Railway (Deutsche Bahn) is chaotic, also the Australian Railway had some problems caused by construction work. After changing somewhere unexpected into another train and some delays I reached Katoomba, where I went to the Central Backpackers. This is a very big hostel, but it was very empty caused by low season.
So I explored this town on my own, went to a supermarked and then to a church. In this Anglican church was a service a little bit like Jesus Freaks, only older and very friendly people. It is great to be Down Under and also here many people are believing in God.
On the evening I had nothing to do, nobody to talk with, but this is the risk of traveling alone.
Day 27, May 30
This whole day I went out into the Blue Mountains for hiking.
I went to the Three Sisters, a rock formation on a Grand Canyon. Seeing this landscape all the boring things about this small town and the empty hostel were lost. The weather was 1A and the big advantage of the low season were the not overcrowded Three Sisters. Every year 1,5 Million tourists are visiting them.
On the evening I met and English pair also travelling with the BA/Qantas round-the-world ticket. They are flying to the Fiji-Islands instead of South America.
Day 28, May 31
The first half day I hiked in the Canyon again. At the end I had to walk up 900 steps, 250 meters of altetude in 500 meters of way.
Without any train problems I went back to Sydney on the afternoon
On the evening I was jogging again in the Hyde Park in Sydney and then I had walked enough in two days
