At 1:30pm the ferry to Wellington started and this ferry trip on the Cook Street I wanted to sleep a little bit but this way was also interesting.
After 3 hours in big waves and a lot of shaking I arrived in Wellington. After searching a lot at first in the wrong part of this city I found a hostel for 2 nights and 20 Dollar per night.
Day 54 - June 25
On the morning I met two Germans and they explained me the best trip for South America. During this time I have not planned a lot for South America.
When I walked around in Wellington I found the Greenpeace Ship Rainbow Worrier II in the harbour. They made advertising against deep sea fishing and for wind energy. So I had to discuss with them about wind energy.

After lunch I went by the Wellington Cable Car on a hill with a botanic garden.

Then I went to the State Museum, but I was a little bit too late. In this museum a lot about immigration to New Zealand and the life of the Aboriginals is shown. One hours later it closed. But for no entrance only one hour was ok.
On the evening there was a Winter Christmas Party in this hostel, because it was a half year to Christmas. This was very terrible because there was Christmas Music everywhere. The Greenpeace Activists from the Rainbow Worrier II should make some protest against this accoustic pollution.
So I went to a pub with some other backpackers, there was a special 2for1 offer for hostel guests.
Day 54 - June 26
On the morning I have been to the State Museum again to see more about Aboriginals. Kiwifruits are coming from China!
Singapore has competition!
Later was time to take the bus to Taupo. With 30 minutes delay the bus started because our driver stucked in snow before. During the trip the landscape got more and more hilly. Some of the way was on the beach.
On the evening in Taupo I found a hostel in 5 minutes thanx to the map at the bus station and on the evening I met some Americans and we shared travel experience.
Day 55 - June 27
After sleeping long I found out that in this village Taupo is not much to do during the low season. The Americans went away in the early morning. My bus to Auckland startet at 4pm. So there was a lot of time to walk around, eating something, writing a postcard, sitting on the lake and drinking coffee in the Golden M.
The flying McS**t
After the coffee in this old plane I was in the New Zealand Aldi Supermarked, the Pak&Safe. In this shop not everything is packed in plastic bags automatically. Therefore this store is a little bit cheaper.
At 4pm my bus to Auckland started and I had to change in Rotorua. During the way I saw some geysers, one of them is used for a geothermic power station. Rotorua is a little bit bigger, maybe this town could have been a better choice for this day.
Geyser
The bus trip after Rotorua was mostly in the dark. We went mostly on a motorway and I hope I missed not too many beautiful landscape.
Arriving in Auckland the tourist information in the bus terminal, where I wanted to ask for a hostel, closed one minute before. So I asked some other people and found the hostel Kiwi Hotel Backpackers, very cheap but very, very dirty and no good idea to stay long.
Day 56 - June 28
It was great, that the Kiwi Hotel Backpackers was booked up for the next night. So I had to find a new hostel without any bad conscience. So I found the very big ACB-Backpackers in the inner city in a clean condition.
During the day I explored Auckland.
Downtown Auckland
Aucklands TV Tower
Auckland is a very beautiful city. But if you want to explore New Zealand you have to see the landscape and not this big city. Stay 1.5 days here like me and then explore the country when you should arrive in Auckland.
The evening was very international with somebody from Chile, Canada and Great Britain.
Day 57 - June 29
The big question: Sleeping long is good against my cold and sleeping short is good against sleeping bad during a nightflight and jetlag. I decided to sleep long and on the morning my cold was nearly away.
A last round into the city, park, Victoria Marked and internet.
Then I was in an Anglican Church to a celebration with only 4 people. The priest has already been to Cologne/Germany. Afterwards lunch and wasting the last coins in a bakery for muffins and cappuccino.
After driving to the airport I had to pay a departure fee of 25 dollars after checking in, a very good idea of New Zealand
The moon on the TV Tower
Now I had to check what is better on long distance flights: A Boeing 747-400 like before or an Airbus 340 from LAN Chile.
