Three feet above the North Sea

Travel time: June 2007  |  by Jörg Knorr

2 weeks, a kayak and the intention to paddle the German North Sea Cost. Sounds very simple. It is simple if you really want it and if you skilled enough to do it. A beautyful journey in a beautiful landscape. Very close to the nature.

From Havneby (DK) to Ehstensiel

Norderney: "400 kilometers are lying behind me. Borkum is lying right in front of me" is what Joerg Knorr writes in his diary on the 13th of June.
From the German/Danish border until the German/Dutch border following the German coast of the North Sea. Knorr took a time out. He left his job, and daily life behind him. For two weeks only. Two weeks which could not be more intense. The Flensburger paddled through one of the most beautiful landscapes Germany has to offer from the 1st until the 14th of july. Starting in Havneby, Denmark he paddled to Hooge, passing Sylt and Amrum and then went on to St. Peter Ording.
