Well, I'm starting to explore my own country. ;o) That's why i went to Berlin with a friend in december 2004. Here is my short report of our 4-day-trip and i hope to get feedback if you like it or not ... :o)
(I decided to write it in English because i think it's more interesting for 'non-germans' to read about a city in germany ...)

I remember i left very very early in the morning of dec. 27th. My high-speed-train left at about 7am from Cologne and i still had to get there before that. So that was a challenge! 
Katha, my friend who had decided to join me on this trip got on the same train about an hour later in Hagen.
In Hannover we had to switch trains.

I don't remember when we arrived in Berlin but the first thing we did was buying a ticket to be able to get around in the city. Then we made our way to Prenzlauer Berg where our hostel was. It wasn't easy to find the right entrance but finally a small sign made us find a very creative graffity inner courtyard.

Our room was great by the way! It had four bunk beds but there was still plenty of room! We both liked the style ... Besides there was another room for us to use and our own bathroom which had i think two showers ... (?) Well, the first night we were the only ones in that dormitory room.
We used the rest of the day to go for a walk and check out the area ...
