I should have my last flight back to Cologne. But all flights should be delayed. After waiting a little bit all BA flights were cancelled.
You should dial a toll-free-number to make a new booking for the next day. After dialling 100 times I got a connection and they booked me on a flight to Duesseldorf, a city near Cologne for the next morning, because all flights to Cologne have been booked up. And Duesseldorf is not far away, that should be ok. Now I should go into a hotel and BA should pay the night later. To queue the line at the hotel reservation counter in the airport made no sence, because it was overcrowded. So I decided to drive into the inner city again. But at the subway station there was another travel agency also with hotel reservation and it was not crowded. They booked me a hotel room in a few minutes and explained me how to go there by bus, very friendly.
So I spent the night in a hotel near the airport.
Day 101 - The BA Extra Day
On the morning I had to get up early after sleeping only a few hours because my flight should depart early. But back on the airport there were no BA flights for the day again. They told me, that I should go on another airline to Cologne and should try Lufthansa, because Lufthansa has flights today and British Airways will pay the ticket later. But Lufthansa was booked up and so I tried to get another flight on the internet. In an internet café I found a free place on a flight from London-Gatwick to Cologne on the evening, no waiting, typing in the credit card number to book an e-ticket before somebody other does and the plane is also full.
And so I spend one more day in London. After sending some life-signals from another cheaper internet café I walked around in London without a final destination. I was in some nice areas but I cannot say where. Later a Pizzahut All-You-Can-Eat for supper the day before, a second breakfast, lunch, and supper for the evening in advance with a buttomless coke to stay awake after sleeping only 5.5 hours the last two nights.
On the evening, without thinking about more trouble, I took a train from Kingscross Station to Gatwick Airport on the half way to Brighton. But I should have more trouble after driving 5 minutes: "Sorry, we cannot drive on, we have a signal failure and all trains at London Bridge Station are standing still. I will make another announcement when I know more."
After waiting for maybe 30 minutes or more I got trouble to miss my plane, the third attempt to go home. Then I prayed to God and after my prayer I looked out of the window and saw the signal switching from red to green. Then the train drove slowly on but it drove. At the airport I needed a coffee but when I checked in they told me I have to go to the gate instantly. And then I saw a plane ready to start and the flight departed on time. When I arrived in Cologne my parents and brother picked me up.
