The cross country road trip that has failed to materialize for 3 years but finally, fulfilled in the year of 2007. Two (crazy) girls set out one early Tuesday morning and in their journey's wake, meet transvestites, cute boys, get bitten by mosquitoes, get pierced with rusty nails and squirted in the eye with 'porn sausage', hang with bums and riffraffs at Union Station....

After our fun little cave exploration, we set the GPS for New Orleans, Louisiana. We, of course, set that thing for the 'fastest route' possible so it led our crappy little AA battery-operated car onto an off-roading adventure!
At first, it was fun
We really can't wait to get the hell outta this place!
The headless horse
There were a bunch of these horses roaming about
Ugh, another 13.5 miles of this
Cows crossing
It begins to darken
Almost...there...ugh...
This sign is sacrilegious!
All I can say is that we were going 1 mph for about 15 miles! It took us over an hour just to get through this 'highway' and onto the Texan state highway. It was so frustrating because we kept thinking our tires were going to flatten and/or we'd be stranded there in the middle of literally, NOWHERE. Not to mention, we didn't even get any cell reception. My arms were sore as I navigated our 'no power-steering' wheel to avoid the many, many potholes and uneven pavement. Jen, on the other hand, was sound asleep.
Driving through the Texas panhandle was not fun. There were way too many troopers milling about. Luckily, we didn't get pulled over (they must not have thought two Asian girls could wreak too much havoc) and their highways were pretty well-lit. We pulled over at a gas station somewhere in Abilene to get a few hours of sleep.
Pecos, Texas-- Home of Pecos Bill, I wonder?
Beautiful skies... *disregard bug stains on our windshield
Our 2nd 'motel stop', right outside of Wendy's
