Day 96 - August 7

On the morning I woke up in a beautiful landscape. And I met Isador on the bus, a Brazilian girl loving travelling like me.
At 1pm we arrived in Rio, she helped me to organize a taxi to the hostel Che Lagerto Grace recommended me. Before taking this taxi I spent her a coffee, very good after this long trip. In Rio you should take a taxi with all your belongings because the bus station is in a maybe dangerous area.
But when I arrived in Ipenama the area was very safe. So I walked around after bringing all my stuff into the hostel. I went to the beach and to the Ipanema Hippie Fair, which is every sunday.

Day 97 - August 8

After a RESET-sleep I drove by a public bus to the Copacabana beach to visit this beach. Then I went by subway to the city center. In this area you have to take care of your belongings, so I placed my camera in a supermarked plastic bag. Many people, a lot of crowding, skyscrapers, interesting for one walk. Then I took a very old tram to Santa Teresa, a part of Rio looking like the time has stopped many years ago.
Later I went to the Maracana Stadium to take pictures for my brother, he is a football fanatic and Maracana is the biggest stadium on the world.
On the evening I was on Corcovado to the Jesus Christ Statue. I was there at the time of sunset to see Rio from above during daylight and at the night in one trip.

Day 98 - August 9

I did a big walk over the Ipenema Beach and the Copacabana Beach and then I drove up the Sugar Hut by this expensive cable car, but there is no other possibility to get up. I got compensated by a huge view over the from above most famous city of the world.
The afternoon I wanted to go swimming in Ipenema but the waves were to high and dangerous. So I decided to go by a bus to the Copacabana Beach where the waves were not so high. The waves were great there and I had a lot of fun in the water. Afterwards I drunk a Caipirinha in a beach bar. I did this as celebration that this money (I had only money for one Caipi and the bus ticket back with me) was not stolen on the beach.

Day 99 - August 10

On the morning I was jogging on the Ipenema beach. After breakfast I enjoyed a Coconut milk on the beach.
At 11am I had to go on this big street where the airport buses are driving and stopping on demand. A last trip on the Ipenama Beach and Copacabana and the inner city to the very boring airport.
The flight started to Sao Paulo, where we had to stay in the plane without movies for 1.5 hours and then in 11 hours over night to London-Heathrow.
