My flight was really great. Lan Chile has a super service and the personal onboard entertainment system was made less for sleeping during the nightflight.
Day 57A - June 29 again
The EXTRADAY
The customers seized some fruits in my backpack and 8 hours of this extraday.
After playing with a spanish ATM (AdvenTureMachine) until I won some money from my bankcard I took a shared taxi to Tere. I know her from Taizé in France.
The portier of this big house opened me the door to her flat where she lives with her mother. After an half hour she came home from work. At first we have eaten something special chilenian and then we went into the inner city. She trained me bus driving in Santiago
To go on buses is not very easy in Santiago. They are the perfect organized chaos.
We talked about about Chile and Europe, travel experiences and I had to enjoy the chilenian hospitality.
On the evening we went to a pub to drink Pisco Sour. Pisco is the national drink of Chile and Peru.
For cocktail fans:
1 part of Pisco Sour
3 parts of Lemon Juice
Sugar as you want, this means here a lot of sugar
Ice
The culture and the hospitility of Chile is a little bit comparable to Portugal in Europe.
Day 58 - June 30
After sleeping in a completely new timezone without big problems I visited Santiago on my own, because Tere had to work. I was on many places, visited some churches, the pedestrian street and I was on two hills, the Cerro Santa Lucia and Parque Metropolitano with its big view over the smoggy city.
On the evening I went to a shopping center and cinema. The first shopping center on a new continent is interesting because you can see what you all can buy. But there you can buy nearly the same things then in Europe. On the evening there was nothing to do and Tere had to work and study very long. So I went to the cinema inside the shopping center to watch Star Wars tres in original sound.
Day 59 - July 1
Today Tere had to work in another shopping center and I visited her on her work. Her boss was very friendly and spent us a coffee. Then I did a trip in the inner city to visit the Museum de Arte Precolombino with a lot of old art before the spanish came to South America. Later I was to a handycraft marked a little bit outside of the city.
On the evening Teres boy friend made me the perfect trip for "South America In Six Weeks". He is journalist and was nearly everywhere in South America. This was the evening when I planned to visit also Peru.
Day 60 - July 2
After a long breakfast with Tere I had to say her Goodbye and went to a very big bus terminal to catch a bus to Valparaiso. The next bus departed 5 minutes after my arrival and the trip took 2 hours.
