100degrees longditude east by 9degrees north Latitude.

That is the approximate location of Samui. We saw it by the side of the tarmace a Samui airport when we arrived.

We left Bangkok on Day 4 via an interanl flight on Bangkok Airways. A great little airline working form Bangkok and serving most major internal points in Thailand and few external ones. Once checked in we went thru to the departure lounge where we we surprised to see complimentary drinks snacks and internet access.

The flight was soon called and we boarded the aircraft to Samui a Boeing 717 for those technos amonst you.

The flight took less than an hour with full service on board. On disembarking we thought we had landed in Disneyland. The Aircraft is brightly painted andtransfer to the arrivals lounge was by a large golf trolley that looked like it had just come out of Toytown.

The baggage reclaim area is an open sided coconut palmed roofed hut. I could not believe my eyes. BAA please note save a fortune and build Terminal 5 like this.

I strongly believe that if all airports and aircraft were painted like this they would stop being targets for terrorists, no one could take the avaition industry seriously.

We were met by the hotel transfer bus and whisked away to the hotel. Wow what a place the boy had chosen well
I could not believe the place. Designed by an architect in the late 1990's the Muang Kulaypan is a minilmalist treat. The green grass aress with large cocnut trees set against the back ground of the sea in its shades of blue and green.
The beach is white silver sand. Stunning FAB fantastico. i must stop ranting on it sounds like an advert.

The room is beautiful with air con that cools the room well. There is strong smell of Eucyliptus in the air to greet us.

We soon change and enjoy out first afternoon on the beach.

That night we strolled in to town to dine on Chillied Tiger Prawns the size of "yer father's!" as Nanna would have put it. The whole meal cost less than 20 quid.

More soon..........................
