Thailand

Travel time: December 2006 - January 2007  |  by Christina E.

Phuket: Karon Beach

Passing through Kamala, Karon and Kata Beach, I surmised that Patong was definitely the place to be. Although it boasted about 80% of the tourists in Phuket, it was still the place for lively entertainment and lived up to its reputation as the party town. We also heard that Krabi would be much calmer, so we at least wanted to experience one party circuit.

We also saw this interesting shrine/walkway in the middle of Karon's streets.

Next to Patong Beach, Karon is the next 'most happening' place to be. If you want more of a calm area, that's not so party-ish and with less tourists, then the Northern part of Kamala Bay or a bit down South, by Kata is where you'll probably want to be.
