3 Weeks Across Incredible India

Travel time: January 2009  |  by Michael Honsel

Delhi

In the early evening I arrived at Delhi Airport and I went by taxi to Faiz. He is a friend of Saijo and Lijo and I already knew him from his trip to Germany in 2008.
The taxi driver did not know the way and how should a taxi driver know all places in a 12.8 million people city. But I fixed this problem very quick by calling Faiz and giving my phone to the driver. Buying an indian prepaid simcard for things like this was a really good idea.
The evening we made a walk at Faiz place. The night I stayed in a guestroom in a student hostel in Institute Of Immunology where Faiz is working as researcher.

Day 14 - 22. January 2009

This day I explored Delhi. First I went to Qutb Minar Complex.

Later I went to Lotus Temple. Lotus Temple is a multireligous temple where everybody can go for meditation. Many school classes were there.

Afterwards I met Faiz at Lotus Temple. We went to Akshardham Temple. Taking photos inside this temple is not allowed and this was good because otherwise the athmosphere will be destroyed. This temple is very beautiful.
Later we went to the inner city of Old Delhi. Red Fort was closed for Republic day.
