All good things come in threes.

Travel time: November / December 2011  |  by Konstanze G.

Penang: George Town

George Town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008. This bustling capital has 200 years of history and culture, which can be best observed in its historic core. Buildings of historical and cultural interest as well as cultural practices that habe been handed down from previous generations give George Town a uniqueness that is rarely found elsewhere. George Town was one of the very firt British colonial settlements established 1786 by Captain Francis Light

I wish to have stayed a little longer in George Town as George Town is wonderful and an exiting town to explore. There would have been so much more to see.

Do not forget when visiting George Town to stay in one of those fantastic heritage guest houses which can be found in Love Lane for instance. And do not forget to eat at Mickies place, a simple restaurant in Love Lane with a very charming owner who will be introducing himself to you in a very warm way. A traveller himself catering to other travellers. The place is cool and will be memorable
