To the memory of my uncle
Alexander
(1945-2006)
who went backcountry skiing in the Berchtesgaden Alps and was killed by an avalanche at the Röthwand.
His life was full of traveling and adventure.
May he rest in peace.

My uncle Alexander had invited me to climb Germanys highest mountain with him. We had then arranged a date which turned out to be the worst we could have chosen: the whole area was flooded!
