Nepal and Tibet

The Friendship Highway

We have loved Lhasa, its unique culture, its people, its colourful history and its amazing temples but it is time to move on and we know that we shall, most likely, never return. As we pack our Land Cruisers for the overland trip back to Kathmandu, we notice snow on the surrounding hills, which was not there the previous day. The breeze today is much cooler, which is good. I am feeling nervous, as I know we shall be traversing mountain passes today on very narrow, winding roads so I am anxious about the skill of the drivers, some of whom look no more than teenagers.
