inconsistent news from southeast asia
Leaving for bangkok on Sept. 12. Where we go from there is anyone's guess. Hoping to see Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos. Be back in six months or so if everything goes well. There really isn't much of a route planned - we'll see what happens.
Cat's People Pics.
It has occured to me that while Mat posts BEE-YOO-TEE-FULL pictures, there is a definate lack of shots with US in them! So, by popular demand (...okay, it was only me...) here they are!!!!
Okay, there's no REAL people in this one... but gosh darn, look how happy that cream makes them!!
B and me at our swanky Christmas dinner. We actually DRESSED UP!!
B on the fast boat to Siem Reap!
There were hordes of tuk-tuk drivers with name cards ready to take people to town. It was too early in the morning to think to lie about our names.
Angkor Wat, Day one
REALLY REALLY steep stairs at Angkor Wat. Those people aren't on all fours further up because they're tired... the stairs were just THAT hard to climb.
Grrrrrrrrr.... SUNSETS!!!
Mat at the top of a REALLY tall Wat!
"Hey Catherine! That's a really big phallus you're stroking!!"
On the third day we rented bicycles to Angkor Wat - It was the most amazing bike ride EVER (for me)!
Me, and a Wat.
Me, and a REALLY big TREE!!!
Mat pondering the existence of butterflies.
Mat pondering the existence of these ridiculous sunglasses.
(Not an hour later, we actually saw someone wearing them. That's Khao San Road for ya)
