BRAZIL: Iguacu Falls-Brazilian Side
Iguacu Falls - Brazil
After another 22hrs in the bus from Rio we arrived in Puerto Iguazu (Argentina) for the second time, checked into a hostel and went to eat beef!! We had had withdrawl symptoms whilst in Brazil. Next day we got up early and took the bus back across the Argentina/Brazil border to Foz do Iguacu to get a look at the falls from this side. Its a completely different perspective from Brazil as you are not so close to the water and the panoramic view is once again....amazing! We were´t dissapointed and took about a million photos of water and rainbows. Then we decided to spoil ourselves and take a helicopter flight over the National Park and the falls themselves. It was quite pricey considering our tight budget but we did it nevertheless. Aside from the glacier evacuation in NZ this was my first real helicopter flight....really cool...loved it! After that we headed to the Aviary which is just next door to the National Park. Although it was packed with some beautiful tropical flora and fauna we were there to see the Tucans. These birds are just fascinating to look at....almost comic like! We spent ages in the Tucan area trying to get the perfect picture and took a ridiculous amount of photos in the end. They are really funny birds though and come and sit really close to you as if posing for the camera. Must be something to do with the tranquiliser which they are fed with.....
