Backpacking (Western) Europe

Travel time: April 2004  |  by Christina E.

France: Old Paris

Alexandre takes us to this great restaurant in Old Paris. He insists that we order some escargot and tried to persuade us further by saying that since they were collected 'from the sea', that automatically made them 'seafood'. We didn't buy it. But, nevertheless, we adopted the motto of 'When in France...'

After dinner, we strolled around, taking in the beautiful nightlife. For dessert, Alexandre took us to what he deemed "the best ice cream in Paris".

After Old Paris, we went to Alexandre's place to pick up his car and he gave us a driving tour of Paris at night. The hostels were all booked up and since we were leaving for Switzerland the following day, we took him on his offer and crashed at his loft.

Before we knocked out, Alexandre insists on taking this picture below. For some reason, he found it extremely hilarious.
