Curly and Lina VS The World

And then there were two . . .

Kelli and I hung around BsAs for a couple more days before heading off to the country. It was a lot more of the same shopping, eating, drinking, catching taxis affair.

Ching, ching!

Ching, ching!

Not sure why, but two girls on their own in BA seems to attract 2 desperate and unattractive men almost at every turn. It is quite boring . . .

Curls is pretty impressed with Fabritzio and Mauritzio here (I promise I´m not making those names up)

Kelli wanted to spend her birthday at an estancia. So after our few days in BsAs, we hopped onto a bus and headed for the country. First stop was a cute little town called San Antonio de Areco which had heaps of cute colonial architecture and the roads are ruled by scooters, bicycles and vintage Ford utes.

Did you even know that you could pull a trailer with a bike?

The day after we arrived in San Antone was Curly´s birthday and we were due to be picked up early in the morning to be taken to the estancia. Unfortunately though, it rained cast and dogs almost from sun-up to sun-down. As there was no horseriding or pool swimming to be had, we had to drink a lot of (free) red wine and amuse ourselves indoors.

There were hardly any other guests staying at the estancia with us but amoung those who did were two very, very strange Swedish guys that wore their t-shirts tucked into their very short shorts. One of them fancied himself as Australian because he had spent quite a lot of time visiting friends in Blacktown or somewhere similar and started everything with ¨me mates in sydney . . .¨ They drank heavily from the moment they woke up to the moment they passed out. Gave us a few laughs!

The photo is a bit blurry but I´m sure you get the picture. That man bag might even belong to one of them.

The lady running the estancia was a little upset that we didn´t get a chance to go horseriding so the following day (which was clear and beautiful), we got to have a ride around the property.

YAY! Happy birthday Kelli!

Rosario was the next stop on our itinerary. What a shame. It was an incredibly boring city. We just didn´t get it. It sits on a river and has a ¨beach¨that people use to bake and swim in the very brown, quite dirty looking river. YUCK! We put our swimmers on but we just couldn´t bring ourselves to do it. Our bad time there was compounded by the incredible amount of mosquitoes every where. We have since found out that there was a mosquito plague at the time.
