After much deliberation Julius and I decided to stay in Phuket instead of dragging our arses from one island to another. We wanted to relax, so packing and unpacking again and again didn't excite us.
Despite all the bad press Phuket gets, it suited us fine. We stayed on the very busy Patong beach but it had everything we needed: shopping, beach and great food. We mostly had early nights and full days of swimming and eating.
Note: this is the second time I've written this entry (the first deleted itself) so it is brief. I'll let the pictures do the talking . . .
We did this daily. Bliss!
Our friendly bartender.
Ummmm, is this funny yet?
Awwwww.
One of the funny games you play at the bar. They also had connect4 and jenga.
A typical view of Patong beach . . .
Riding around in the over-priced tuk-tuks . . . we only did this the once.
Approaching Karon Beach. This is (apparently) the more 'posh' beach. I think this means no street stalls.
Seafood anyone?
yum, yum, yum!
I'll have some coconut milk, please!
hmmmmm, kup un ka!
Curry in a hurry? Actually, I think this one was soup.
We got everything we wanted out of Thailand: shopping, great food, swimming and some very serious relaxing. We loved the Thai people and of course, the AMAZING food!
