Hollywood and its famous strip! It was a little disappointing. It is OK at daytime, though most of the buildings are now souvenir shops and tour offices. Of course the huge Kodak-building(Oscar awards), the Chinese theater, the famous film studios and the walk of fame with its stars and food-and fingerprints of the movie stars are still impressing but everything looks a little run-down and dirty. Its worse at night. The strip is empty except some beggars and homeless people sleeping on the street and trying to get some from the few tourists which are walking around (like me!)
What a difference is Santa Monica and Venice beach! Though it was still too cold to lay on the beach you can "smell" this California way of life. Miles of beaches, beautiful people walking at the ocean way, restaurants, bars, shops and and and ... everything looks very cool and relaxed. Muscle beach, where people work out, Basketball courts and Volleyball fields are all over the beach. I can imagine how it is there in summer, have to go back and check it out. But you need a lot of money, its not the cheapest place on earth. I was almost broken after my 3 days there!
